چکیده
Abstract In forest tree breeding programs, open-pollinated families are frequently used to estimate genetic parameters and evaluate merit of individuals. However, the presence selfing events not documented in pedigree affects estimation these parameters. this study, 194 Eucalyptus globulus Labill. trees were compare precision estimated accuracies predicted values with conventional pedigree-based model (ABLUP) pedigree-genomic single-step (ssGBLUP). The available information for pairwise parent-offspring allows us an actual populational rate 5.4%. For all growth disease resistance traits evaluated, inclusion was effective reducing upward bias, between 7 30%, heritability estimates. predictive abilities ssGBLUP models always higher than those ABLUP models. both cases, a considerable reduction observed when relatedness training validation populations removed. We proposed straightforward approach population. incorporation parameter more reliable Furthermore, our results proved that accurate improve prediction events, thus valuable tool genomic evaluations programs.

A massive quantity of genomic information is now available in livestock. For example, 2.8 million single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been found in the chicken genome. It is natural to consider use of this information as an aid in genetic improvement of livestock or plants. In medicine and agriculture, for example, genomic information could also be used for designing, e.g., diet or plan...

This study aimed to investigate the effect of the method of estimating the effects of markers , QTLs distribution, number of QTLs, effective population size and trait heritability on the accuracy of genomic predictions. Two effective population sizes, 100 and 500 individuals, were simulated by QMSim software. A 100 cM genome including one chromosome was simulated where 500 SNPs and two diffe...
متن کاملGenomic Estimated Breeding Values Using Genomic Relationship Matrices in a Cloned Population of Loblolly Pine
Replacement of the average numerator relationship matrix derived from the pedigree with the realized genomic relationship matrix based on DNA markers might be an attractive strategy in forest tree breeding for predictions of genetic merit. We used genotypes from 3461 single-nucleotide polymorphism loci to estimate genomic relationships for a population of 165 loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.) indi...
متن کاملGenomic breeding value prediction: methods and procedures.
Animal breeding faces one of the most significant changes of the past decades - the implementation of genomic selection. Genomic selection uses dense marker maps to predict the breeding value of animals with reported accuracies that are up to 0.31 higher than those of pedigree indexes, without the need to phenotype the animals themselves, or close relatives thereof. The basic principle is that ...
